On Wednesdays we wear pink!
From candy pinks to bold fuchsias – this season, designers have given us ample to choose from to help us channel our inner Karen.
Fashion has been obsessed with this body part for a few seasons now, be it off-shoulder or cold shoulder. With the revival of the 80’s, power shoulders make a comeback!
Crossing the line
Louis Vuitton’s striped top teamed with black pants or Fendi’s striped ensemble? Whatever be your line of fancy – nautical, graphic or nightwear inspired, spring/summer’17 designers have your back.
Beat the heat by slipping into white dresses. And you have so many to choose from! Try Soniya Rykiel’s boho dress for a day out shopping or Christian Dior’s short lace number for brunch.
Florals for Spring?
Miranda Priestly said it best, but this is one trend that is here to stay – season after season. Designers have made them bold and in full bloom this time around.
The hourglass silhouette is huge this spring/summer. With varied styles of belts and waist clinchers worn over just about everything – from trench coats to oversize shirts and high-waist skirts.
Someone once said, ‘stand for something if not, you’d fall for anything’ – so fashion took a stand this season, encouraging self-expression and individualism; political, social and cultural slogans flooded the runway. Our favourite? Dior’s ‘We should all be feminists’ tee. #girlpower!
An army of khaki’s in sleeker silhouettes, with cargo pockets, zippers and light-weight outerwear, form the new uniform dressing that’s luxe and effortless.
See through layers dominated the runway in a powerful alliteration of black tulle and lace, worn over varied underwear. Take style cues from Balmain, Coach and Lanvin’s sexy dresses and gowns.
Victorian Sleeve Romance
Leg-o-mutton or puffed, voluminous Victorian sleeves made a statement on the runway. Kenzo, Gucci and Marc Jacobs show us that the bigger the sleeves, the better!
Swimwear and swim-inspired separates are not just confined to resort season anymore but find their place on the spring/summer runway. With one-pieces, cover-ups, bra tops with high waist briefs that Max Mara, John Galliano, Fendi and Miu Miu have to offer – ladies, let’s hit the beach!
A Sporting Life
Season after season, athleisure always finds its spot on the runway, and why not? With fluorescent hues, sports inspired details and coated surfaces, the most comfortable and wearable trend is here to stay! Yay!
