The brand’s most diverse campaign yet.
Earlier this year, Gucci released a bunch of audition videos where models were asked to dance and answer questions ranging from, “What’s your spirit animal?” to “What does it mean to have soul?”
Those videos were just teasers to what was in store for us. “Taking its initial cue from the Made You look exhibition about black masculinity and dandyism which ran at London’s Photographer’s Gallery, this season’s Gucci advertising campaign in an exploration of the flamboyance and self- expression of men and women who challenge the conventions of society through performance, art and dance.”
Under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s Pre-Fall campaign features only black models.
Inspired by England’s underground Northern Soul movement of the 60s, the models seem to be vibing and dancing to those beats in the colourful and energetic images shot by Glen Luchford,
